It was all about the bubbles in toddler storytime – bathtime & bubbles that is!<\/p>\n

We read stories about\u00a0a wild ride\u00a0in a big red, bathtub and about a bath before bedtime\u00a0with some calisthenics afterward????\u00a0 Just goes to show that bath time in storybooks is rarely predictable!<\/p>\n

OUR STORIES:<\/strong>
\nJulia Jarman’s Big Red Tub<\/strong> <\/em>was a\u00a0BIG hit!<\/p>\n

So many animals want to join Stella and Stan in the tub!\u00a0 A dog, a\u00a0giraffe, a turtle and even a lion jump in, creating bubbles and splatters everywhere!\u00a0 Then a\u00a0hippo\u00a0makes an attempt to sneak in and things go awry!\u00a0 The floor is wet and slippery and the hippo never makes it in; instead he bangs into the\u00a0tub pushing it out of the house and into the sky where it spins twice around the earth before landing back home again.\u00a0 Then the children hear another knock on the bathroom door…who could it be???\u00a0\u00a0The final visitor-MOM!\u00a0 Bright, colorful illustrations, rhyming text and an unexpected, clever\u00a0jaunt around the earth\u00a0provide a little something for\u00a0everyone.<\/p>\n

What usually happens before bedtime?\u00a0 A bath!\u00a0In\u00a0The Going to Bed\u00a0Book<\/strong><\/em>, \u00a0Sandra Boynton makes her animal characters come alive as we see them standing on the deck of a boat right before bedtime.\u00a0 The bedtime ritual begins with all of them racing down below to take a bath in \u201cone big tub\u201d.\u00a0 We see them hang up their towels on the wall, find their pajamas, brush their teeth and go up to the deck\u00a0when the moon rises.\u00a0\u00a0 What they do on the deck seems a little strange before bedtime (I\u2019ll keep that part a secret), but it lends an element of humor to the story.\u00a0 Of course they eventually say good night, turn off the lights and \u201crock, and rock and rock to sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n
