We explored stories about bellybuttons during our storytime on April 28th!\u00a0 We also used our feet to take a long walk and found a few new friends in our “walking box”.<\/p>\n

OUR STORIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"belly<\/a>Belly Button Book!<\/strong> by Sandra Boynton is a lively romp into the land of hippos and their “bee bos” (that’s a baby hippo’s way of saying BELLYBUTTON).\u00a0 The hippos in this story have no qualms about exposing their belly buttons; there’s even a Belly Button Beach where “tons of hippos stand around in bathing suits too little…”\u00a0 Simple, colorful illustrations, rhyming verse and humor make this a hit with\u00a0toddlers.\u00a0 There’s also a little tune at the end which is fun to sing!\u00a0\u00a0 Of course, the story ends in the\u00a0winter when “belly buttons hide”.\u00a0 This board book offers numerous ways to interact with your toddler.
\n\"WeveAllGotBellybuttons\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Yes! It’s another book about bellybuttons, but it doesn’t end at bellybuttons!\u00a0 David Martin’s book, We’ve All Got Bellybuttons!<\/strong> introduces us to different animals who identify different body parts.\u00a0It begins with\u00a0a group of elephants who chant: “We’ve got ears and you do too…We can pull them, can you?”\u00a0 The\u00a0repetition, rhyming cadence and the different jungle animals (giraffes, monkeys, zebras leopards and hippos) make this a great book to teach\u00a0identification of different body parts and animals.\u00a0 Plus the visuals are stunning, large and colorful with easy to read text.\u00a0 The toddlers loved it!<\/p>\n
