<\/p>\nWe shared stories about dogs and cats today…two of the children even helped me tell the story of\u00a0 Mr. Dog and Mrs. Cat\u00a0who lived “up the hill and down the hill” from each other.\u00a0\u00a0It was a fun time filled with books, action rhymes, songs and a video to end it all!\u00a0 Here are some of the books & activities we shared:<\/p>\n

George is a puppy and he is trying awfully hard to learn how to bark.\u00a0 Unfortunately, he’s experiencing a strange bit of indigestion which makes the whole process much harder.\u00a0 A funny story to share one-on-one or in a group.<\/p>\n

Mr. Pusskins\u00a0is an ill-tempered cat and decides his sweet owner, Emily, is a BORE!\u00a0 So he leaves…but life outside of his comfortable. loving home isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.\u00a0 A sweet, suspenseful picture book story that will have the children on the edge of their seats as they wonder if Emily will ever take Mr. Pusskins back!\u00a0 Better for ages 3 and up.<\/p>\n

\nuntil he came to Mrs. Cat’s\u00a0door.\u00a0<\/span>
\nHe knocked on the door, \u201cclock! clock! clock!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nMrs. Cat was taking a nap so\u00a0she didn\u2019t hear Mr. Dog\u00a0when he knocked on the door. \u201cclock! clock! clock!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cOh, Mrs. Cat\u00a0must not be home,\u201d said Mr. Dog.
\nI think I\u2019ll go back home.
\nSo he went up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill.\u00a0<\/span>
\nHe opened the door and went in and closed the door.\u00a0<\/span>
\nBut he was so tired that he had to lie down and take a nap.
\nMeanwhile, Mrs. Cat woke up from her nap.\u00a0\u00a0She\u00a0opened the door and came out. \u201cOh, what a lovely day, I think I\u2019ll go and visit my friend Mr. Dog.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo\u00a0she closed her\u00a0door.\u00a0She went up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill.\u00a0<\/span>
\nUntil she came to Mr. Dog’s house.\u00a0She knocked on the door. \u201cclock! clock! clock!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nBut Mr. Dog\u00a0was taking a nap and didn\u2019t hear her when she went \u201cclock! clock! clock!\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo Mrs. Cat thought Mr. Dog must not be home. \u201cSo I\u2019ll go home.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo she went up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill until she came to her house.\u00a0<\/span>
\nSe opened the door and went in.\u00a0<\/span>
\nMeanwhile Mr. Dog\u00a0finished his nap. \u201cAh, I do wish I could see my good friend Mrs. Cat.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nMrs. Cat thought, \u201cI wish I could see my friend Mr. Dog. I\u2018ll try again.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo each of them opened their doors, closed their doors and they went up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill up the hill and down the hill until they met in the middle. \u201cWhy hello Mr. Dog! I was on my way to see you.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cWell Mrs. Cat, I was on my way to see you.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cI came to see you earlier but you weren\u2019t home.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cOh that must have been while I was taking a nap.\u201d
\n\u201cI came to see you but you weren\u2019t home.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cThat must have been when I was taking a nap.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u201cWell come on over to my house now.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>
\nSo they went up the hill and down the hill and down the hill and up the hill and down the hill until they came to Mr. Dog\u2019s house.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThey opened the door and went in.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThey had such a lovely time. They had tea and crumpets with lemon crud and fresh butter. It was delicious.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThen it was time for Mrs. Cat\u00a0to go home. So they opened the door and came out.
\nMr. Dog\u00a0waved as Mrs. Cat went up the hill and down the hill and up the hill and down the hill and up the hill and down the hill until she came to her house.\u00a0<\/span>
\nThen each of them opened their doors and went into their houses and closed their doors. And that’s the end of the story!<\/p>\n

\nWe watched Harry the Dirty Dog…Harry did not like taking a bath and he loved getting dirty.\u00a0 We find out what happens when Harry sneaks out of the house and travels through town having some very “messy” adventures.\u00a0 He eventually comes back home but he is now a black dog with white spots, rather than a white dog with black spots…hmmm…will his family\u00a0recognize him?<\/p>\n
