Books We Shared<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/strong>
\nIn both Infant and Toddler storytimes we read Clip-Clop<\/span> by Nicola Smee. \u00a0This is one of my favorite books for this age group! \u00a0In it, Mr. Horse is having fun on the farm giving everyone rides. \u00a0But what happens when he goes too fast? \u00a0Mr. Horse may be worried, but everything turns out all right in the end!<\/p>\n

In Infant storytime we read Slow Snail<\/span> by Mary Murphy. \u00a0Snail may be slow, but she is determined to get where she is going. \u00a0But where is she headed? \u00a0The answer may just give you a giggle.<\/p>\n

For our second book in toddler storytime we read “Slowly, Slowly, Slowly,” said the Sloth<\/span> by Eric Carle, the creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.<\/span> \u00a0Sloth is very slow, slow, slow — at everything! \u00a0But is he lazy? \u00a0Find out when you read this beautifully illustrated book.<\/p>\n

Fast or Slow

Have the vehicles behind the board. \u00a0Put one vehicle on the board at a time, and ask the audience if it goes fast or slow. When they answers, move the vehicle across the board at the correct speed. \u00a0You can also make the noises the vehicle makes as you move it. Take this piece of the board, and then repeat with the next vehicle.<\/p>\n

This is a great way to encourage talking with your child. \u00a0Even if you don’t have a flannelboard, you can play this same sort of game with toys, or even looking at different vehicles as you walk around your neighborhood.<\/p>\n
