Up, Down and Around<\/em><\/strong> by Katherine Ayres teaches us that some plants grow down into ground, some grow toward the sky and some twist round and round and round as they grow.\u00a0 This is a great book to teach children about how plants grow and to teach them directional concepts like up, down and around.\u00a0 Plus its a lot of fun to read out loud.<\/p>\n

Lenny in the Garden<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by Ken Wilson-Max is a rhyming tale about all of the creatures Lenny finds in the garden.\u00a0 He sings a little song to greet each of them by name!\u00a0 For example:<\/p>\n

Mr. Ant, Mr. Ant<\/em><\/p>\n

Where are you?<\/em><\/p>\n

Here I am, here I am, how do you do?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

By the end of the book he\u2019s encountered an ant, a spider, a worm, a butterfly a caterpillar, a ladybug, a snail, a grasshopper and a bee!\u00a0 Finally his mother comes out to tell him its time for lunch and she sings:<\/p>\n
