I printed out some of the songs we&#8217;ve done in the past, and put a couple of new ones on there. I put up a display of some of the books we read in the past. I think originally I planned for families to choose a book and read it together individually at some point&#8230; But I didn&#8217;t feel like we had time in the end.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/20191203_091819.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/20191203_091819.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1191\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15236\" srcset=\"http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/20191203_091819.jpg 2500w, http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/20191203_091819-300x143.jpg 300w, http:\/\/pasadena-library.net\/kids\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/10\/files\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/20191203_091819-1024x488.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2500px) 100vw, 2500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"font-headlines\">Books We Shared<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pasadena.iii.com\/iii\/encore\/record\/C__Rb1202789\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.btol.com\/ContentCafe\/Jacket.aspx?UserID=ContentCafeClient&amp;Password=Client&amp;Return=T&amp;Type=L&amp;Value=0152014292\" width=\"400\" height=\"321\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We read <a href=\"https:\/\/pasadena.iii.com\/iii\/encore\/record\/C__Rb1202789\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hush, Little Baby<\/a>, an old lullaby illustrated humorously by Marla Frazee. <\/p>\n<p>Then, we read another book based on that lullaby:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pasadena.iii.com\/iii\/encore\/record\/C__Rb1202426\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.btol.com\/ContentCafe\/Jacket.aspx?UserID=ContentCafeClient&amp;Password=Client&amp;Return=T&amp;Type=L&amp;Value=0786805382\" width=\"400\" height=\"331\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pasadena.iii.com\/iii\/encore\/record\/C__Rb1202426\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hush, Little Alien<\/a> by Daniel Kirk has large, imaginative pictures showing the love of a green alien dad, and it can be sung! I recently attended a storytime workshop about the value of &#8220;singing&#8221; books. It slows the words down so that people learning the language can read them. It also slows things down so that small children can develop print knowledge. And, there is research that shows kids love hearing their parents sing!
