Our summer session of\u00a0Toddler Storytime is underway.\u00a0 Each week\u00a0you\u2019ll find\u00a0a blog post that\u00a0covers the books, rhymes, songs,\u00a0flannel stories, fingerplays,\u00a0puppets and video we shared.\u00a0 There will also be\u00a0some\u00a0information\u00a0about the benefits of reading, singing and talking to your toddler.<\/p>\n

For our very first storytime of the session we enjoyed reading and singing about BEARS!\u00a0\u00a0Below you\u2019ll find a record\u00a0of everything we shared!<\/p>\n

Thank You Bear<\/strong> <\/a>by Greg Foley is a sweet story about a bear who finds a wonderful box and decides to gift it to his friend, Mouse.\u00a0 On the way to seeing Mouse he runs into quite a few naysayers; sadly, no one thinks the box is that great.\u00a0 However, when Bear actually runs into Mouse,\u00a0Mouse thinks the box is\u00a0PERFECT!\u00a0It is so\u00a0perfect that he crawls inside and makes it his home!\u00a0 (As you can see we pulled out a box after reading the book and when we opened the lid we found Hunter the\u00a0library mouse\u00a0hiding inside.)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bear & Hare<\/em> Where’s Bear?<\/strong><\/a> by Emily Gravett is all about two pals playing hide and seek.\u00a0 First it is Bear’s turn to hide and Hare has to count to 10 and look for him.\u00a0 Bear doesn’t do a very good job of hiding (it’s a little difficult to hide when you are so BIG) so\u00a0Hare decides to hide.\u00a0\u00a0Unfortunately, Bear\u00a0isn’t very good at seeking either. Bear looks for Hare under a blanket and ends up falling asleep!\u00a0 Hare is waiting and waiting to be found and finally gets up from his hiding place and begins to panic when he cannot find Bear.\u00a0 He yells\u00a0“I WANT BEAR!”\u00a0 The story ends with Hare and Bear finding each other – a happy ending!<\/p>\n
