Have you ever wondered where we get the music we use at our storytimes? \u00a0Would you like to check out the CDs to sing the music at home? \u00a0Kids love these songs and most of them are based on folk songs and songs that have a lot of action and motion. \u00a0Here I have compiled a list of the recordings I use at my storytimes. \u00a0Many of them are classics that have been used here for years, but some things might be new, because I’m still somewhat new here.<\/p>\n

Songs for Wiggleworms<\/span> <\/a> CD ZM COLL SW O 05<\/a><\/p>\n A hip take on old folk songs!<\/p>\n I use: \u201cRow, Row, Row Your Boat\u201d and I like how it adds new verses to the song.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It\u2019s Toddler Time\u00a0<\/a> I use: \u201cItsy Bitsy Spider\u201d and sometimes \u201cTeddy Bear.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Toddlers on Parade<\/span> <\/a> Kimbo recordings does a great job with activity songs, and this is one of the best.<\/p>\n I use: \u201cRoll Your Hands\u201d at my Toddler Storytimes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wiggleworms Love You<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Old Town School of Folk Music<\/p>\n CD AM WIGG WLY O 01<\/p>\n Charming folk songs, contains songs in a variety of languages, and a nice mix of new and traditional tunes.\u00a0 Probably my favorite children\u2019s music album, just because I find the songs are usually in a great key for singing, and the arrangements are light and fresh.<\/p>\n I use: \u201cI\u2019m a Little Teapot\u201d as a movement song and \u201cLadies Ride\u201d as a bounce for Infant Storytimes.\u00a0 For my preschool storytimes, I use \u201cClap Your Hands\u201d as the welcome song and \u201cIf I Was a Bird\u201d as a movement song.\u00a0 I also use \u201cI Can Sing a Rainbow\u201d as nice background music when people are settling in.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sally Go Round the Sun<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Kathy Reid-Naiman<\/p>\n CD ZM REID SGR M 02<\/p>\n I use: \u201cClap Everybody and Say Hello\u201d as the welcome song for Infant and Toddler storytimes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Smooth Road to London Town<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Kathy Reid-Naiman<\/p>\n CD ZM REID SRL P 01<\/p>\n I use: \u201cA Smooth Road to London Town\u201d as a bounce for Infant Storytimes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Singable Songs Collection<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Raffi<\/p>\n Our copy is kept in Librarian Resource Center and is not available for checkout. \u00a0However, Glendale’s copies do circulate. \u00a0And we have a lot of Raffi CDs available under CD\u00a0ZM RAFF.<\/a><\/p>\n I use: \u201cShake My Sillies Out\u201d for my preschool storytimes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
