For our\u00a0fourth\u00a0storytime of the winter\u00a0session\u00a0we read stories about bathtime!\u00a0\u00a0As a special treat we had the library bubble machine blow some magical bubbles while everyone walked into the story hour room.\u00a0 We had to prepare for all of the bubble baths taking place throughout storytime!\u00a0 What follows are the books, rhymes, songs, tickle, bounces and flannel board we shared.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Lucy Cousin\u2019s picture book, Maisy Takes a Bath, <\/em><\/strong>Maisy is desperately trying to take her bath but she keeps getting interrupted by the door bell!\u00a0 Who can it be?\u00a0 Why it’s her friend Talullah wanting to play!\u00a0\u00a0Maisy has to have her bath first so Talullah leaves and Maisy goes upstairs to soak in her bubble bath.\u00a0 There goes that doorbell again!\u00a0 Can you guess who it is?\u00a0 This is a great picture book for babies – the illustrations are clear, bright and bold and the theme is relatable.\u00a0 Good for a lap sit or read aloud.<\/p>\n

Bathtime with Theo and Beau <\/strong><\/em>by Jessica Shybais a cross between fiction and nonfiction although you would find it in our picture book section.\u00a0 Real photographs of Theo & Beau getting ready for bathtime make this the perfect book to introduce babies (and puppies) to the tub and all the things that making taking a bath fun.<\/p>\n
