For our\u00a0first storytime of the winter\u00a0session\u00a0we read stories about ANIMALS ~ all kinds of animals!\u00a0It was so much fun (and a bit noisy with all those animal sounds).<\/p>\n

What follows are the books, rhymes, songs, tickle, bounces and flannel activity\u00a0we shared.<\/p>\n

Books We Shared<\/h1>\n

I Love Animals<\/strong><\/em> by Flora McDonnell is filled with animals you’re likely to find on a farm!\u00a0 We met Jock the farm dog, some hopping hens, a runaway goat, a loud donkey, a casual cow, a mama pig and her piglets a rolling pony, some sheep, a mama and her kittens AND\u00a0a strutting turkey!\u00a0 Did I miss anything?\u00a0\u00a0Both written and illustrated by Flora McDonnell, the text is\u00a0simple\u00a0and the visuals are bold, bright and unusually large making this the perfect read aloud for an infant.<\/p>\n

Roger Priddy’s board book, Hello Bear<\/strong> <\/em>makes a great read aloud and lap sit book!\u00a0 Since this is a touch and feel book, the visuals are stunning and the sensory possibilities endless.\u00a0\u00a0We say\u00a0hello to a different animal on each page.\u00a0 The book is not only visually attractive\u00a0but offers a good introduction to animal identification.\u00a0 Children can touch the various textures on each page adding to the fun!<\/p>\n
