WE read some great stories about colors and color mixing during today\u2019s Preschool Storytime!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Here are the books, songs, flannel board,\u00a0action rhymes and video we shared.<\/p>\n

Mix it Up!<\/a> by Herve Tullet is an interactive foray into color mixing, art and visual literacy.\u00a0 A wonderful book on colors and a great way to keep children engaged in a story that teaches.<\/p>\n

It’s An Orange Aardvark<\/a> by Michael Hall is a funny\u00a0picture book\u00a0about a carpenter ant\u00a0who decides to\u00a0drill holes to see beyond\u00a0his stump.\u00a0 This worries his fellow ants as\u00a0these different holes are a window to the dangers of the outside world.\u00a0\u00a0Their imaginations run wild as they\u00a0make up stories about the horrible anteating monster\u00a0that will soon attack!\u00a0\u00a0Each turn of the page reveals a new hole where different parts of the illustrations can be seen.\u00a0 Suspenseful, amusing and a great way to teach children color identification.<\/p>\n

Bob Thiel’s What a Wonderful World\u00a0<\/a>is a song in a book!\u00a0 The version in the book\u00a0was originally performed by\u00a0Louis Armstrong and gently introduces colors, the magic of nature, and the beauty of friendship, love and peace.\u00a0 Here’s a video of the song in case you haven’t heard it:<\/p>\n
