For\u00a0the\u00a0SEVENTH\u00a0\u00a0meeting of our spring session we\u00a0read books about BABIES!\u00a0\u00a0We read about a\u00a0jazzy baby who sang some scat and\u00a0 we shared\u00a0a book that taught us how other baby animals play peekaboo!\u00a0\u00a0(Here\u2019s a hint:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>They don\u2019t actually say peekaboo!)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Here are the books, rhymes, fingerplays, flannel boards, action songs and video we shared.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Jazz Baby<\/strong> <\/a>by Lisa Wheeler and R. Gregory\u00a0Christie, we meet a jazzy family who happen to dance, scat, root-a-toot-toot, snap, clap and swing their way through the story.\u00a0 The rhythms and rhymes in this book are incredible for teaching sounds, encouraging fine and gross motor skills development and\u00a0introducing toddlers to musical beats.\u00a0 A really fun picture book that is interactive and can easily be adapted to fit toddler attention spans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Peek-A-Moo<\/strong><\/a> by Marie Torres Cimarusti is a fun book that introduces babies to the different things animals say.\u00a0 A cow says peek-a-moo while a pig says peek-a-oink\u2026what about a duck?\u00a0 Why peek-a-quack!\u00a0 Then of course we finally get to a baby!\u00a0 What does baby say?\u00a0 I think you can guess.\u00a0 A colorful, lift-the-flap book that teaches, engages and keeps babies on their toes!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
