Books We Shared

Ten Tiny Babies features Karen Katz’s adorable illustrations of rolly-polly bouncy babies, and we count them from 1 to 10.

Nancy Tafuri is one of the best author/illustrators for babies and toddlers, and in Five Little Chicks some baby chicks and their mother hen have fun exploring the farm looking for food. This would be a great book to pair with the song “Los Pollitos” (Baby Chicks) which you can find on many CDs in our catalog.

Flannel Boards We Shared

Five Little Speckled Frogs

five green and speckled frogs

Five little speckled frogs
Sitting on a speckled log
Eating a most delicious fly — Yum, Yum!
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Then there were four little speckled frogs!

(keep singing, removing one at a time until there are none left)

(I use the song from Wiggleworms Love You)

Ladybug’s Spots

Ladybug has one spot, one spot, one spot
Ladybug has one spot on her back.

(add a spot and change the number)

Letter of the Day

Our Letter of the Day was C for Counting! We drew a big C in the air, celebrated other words that start with C, and found kids whose names begin with C. This is something I think I will continue to do with the Letter of the Day segment.

Ladybug, ladybug, fly out of the rose
and land right on my baby’s nose!
