Preschool STEAM (for children ages 2-6) is all about having fun with science, math and art!  There is no right or wrong way for children to experiment – the fun and learning comes from the doing!  Early childhood research shows us that little hands and minds learn best when at play.

For our June STEAM adventure, we explored building with various materials.  As you can see from the photos below, it didn’t take much encouragement for these future architects/builders/engineers to just jump right in.  We gave them a variety of blocks and building materials to use – Legos, Duplos, wooden blocks, large foam blocks, soft squishy blocks and a variety of colorful connector toys.

Our Next STEAM Adventure

Join us for our next Preschool STEAM program in July!  You never know what we’ll be exploring.  Last month we asked the question:  “Do Oil and Water Mix?”  This month we allowed the children to explore different shapes and gave them the freedom to build and problem solve.  Come by the Studio on 4th at Central Library  on July 23rd to see what we’re up to!  Program starts at 10:30 a.m.  For children ages 2-6.
