Last night there was a long line here in the Central Library great hall–around 120 people came to support their 2nd and 3rd grade students in answering questions about the book Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business (in Spanish Junie B. Jones y el negocio del mono) by Barbara Park.

All of the students read the book and they all did extremely well on answering the questions. After the competition they got tickets which they were allowed to use to buy prizes.

Here’s a video I made of all the kids who did Lucha Libre mask photos!

We had four children who volunteered as scorekeepers for the event, all of them older siblings of participants. They did beautifully! They were super helpful and dedicated to writing everyone’s answers down accurately.

As you can see we are packed to capacity for this program! It’s in its third year and well on its way to becoming a beloved annual tradition here in Pasadena. Congratulations to all of our reading warrior luchadores!
