The End of the Year is Near

Here we are at the end of another year!  How did that happen?

Speaking of year end: The massive holiday tree that graces the central library is due to arrive tomorrow.   This is a big deal as many of our users think of it as their personal tree since some don’t have room or funds for their own.

I hope you already know that MR. PENUMBRA’S 24-HOUR BOOKSTORE is the choice for “One City, One Story” 2014.  It’s really different, but loads of fun.  I see we also now have it as an audio download.  Good news.

There are plenty of holiday programs going on:  three tree lightings throughout the library system.  I hope you can participate in one.  At the Allendale Branch, there is a litfest of poetry before the lighting.  Come early, the seats are sure to fill up quickly.  It’s Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4:00 p.m.  Others are on Dec. 13:  La Pintoresca at 3 p.m. and Hastings Branch at 4 p.m.  Fun for all.

Have a great week!
